Buying

How do I find the right costume?

Use the search filters to narrow by dance genre, size, age group, colour, and price range. You can also save searches and get notified when new costumes matching your criteria are listed.

Is my payment secure?

Yes. All payments are processed through Stripe, a trusted global payment platform. Your payment details are never shared with the seller.

What if the costume isn't as described?

We encourage honest listings with clear photos and descriptions. If a costume arrives significantly different from the listing, contact us within 48 hours and we'll help resolve it.

Can I try a costume before buying?

If the seller offers local pickup, you may be able to arrange a try-on. Otherwise, check the measurements provided in the listing carefully before purchasing.

Selling

How much does it cost to list?

Nothing. It's completely free to create a listing on The Costume Loop. We only charge a small commission when your costume sells.

How do I price my costume?

Check similar listings on the platform for guidance. As a rule of thumb, pre-loved costumes typically sell for 30–60% of their original price depending on condition, age, and demand.

How do I get paid?

Once the buyer confirms they've received the costume, your payment is released directly to your nominated bank account via Stripe Connect.

How should I ship the costume?

Use a tracked courier service so both you and the buyer can follow the delivery. Pack the costume carefully to avoid damage in transit. You can also offer local pickup if you prefer.

Studios

Can our studio have its own page?

Yes. Studios can create a branded storefront on The Costume Loop to manage bulk costume sell-offs at the end of each season. Contact us to get set up.

Is there a cost for studios?

No. Studio partnerships are completely free. We want to make it as easy as possible for studios to help their families save money on costumes.

Which countries do you cover?

The Costume Loop currently serves dancers and families across Australia and New Zealand. We plan to expand to other regions in the future.
